Arrive at the zoo after closing time and meet your hosts from the Education department outside the front gates. First, you will go behind the scenes in our giraffe barn for an exclusive encounter with these iconic residents of the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. After sunset, see how your nocturnal senses measure up in a series of outdoor games in the dark! Next, embark on a flashlight scavenger hunt to locate coveted animal trading cards in unique locations throughout the zoo. You’ll get to design an arts-and-crafts creation of your choice from an array of nocturnal animals before trekking through the zoo on a guided night hike as we learn about the adaptations of nocturnal animals and meet some nocturnal species in The Hive. Finally, enjoy delicious s’mores by a campfire and end your adventure with a train ride through the dark!
