Mill Coffee Tree Kangaroo Project

Tree Kangaroo Project

Your Purchase Makes a Difference!

Support tree kangaroo conservation with The Mill's new single origin coffee from Papua New Guinea, made in collaboration with Lincoln Children's Zoo.

Did you know that Matschie's tree kangaroos are an endangered species? This means they face a very high risk of extinction in the wild. Matschie's tree kangaroos have an estimated population of less than 2,500 individuals in the wild and continue to face threats of habitat destruction caused by logging and mining exploration. But you can help!

What makes this coffee special?

When you visit the Zoo, you will meet our exceptional residents, including the Matschie's Tree Kangaroos.

This coffee comes from the Yopno, Uruwa, and Som (YUS) Zones of Papua New Guinea and directly supports this conservation area and the home and preservation of the endangered Matschie's tree kangaroo. Profits from this coffee are vital for local communities, enabling them to protect their ancestral lands and the tree kangaroos that depend on them.

How does it taste?

In addition to funding a good cause, this coffee is an excellent expression of the region with it’s full bodied, long finish and tastes of dark chocolate and earthy spices. This coffee reflects the rich terroir of the region and the careful cultivation practices of its farmers.

I'm in! Where can I purchase this coffee to support tree kangaroo conservation?

Purchase this coffee at the Lincoln Children's Zoo or any of The Mill Coffee & Tea Lincoln locations and experience the distinctive flavor of this Tree Kangaroo Washed coffee while supporting a project that makes a real difference.

Lincoln Children’s Zoo will donate 100% of its profit to the Tree Kangaroo Conservation Program.

The Tree Kangaroo Conservation Program fosters wildlife and habitat conservation and supports local community livelihoods in Papua New Guinea through global partnerships, land protection, and scientific research.
