• Considered the top predator of Madagascar
• Only Carnivore whose diet consists mostly of primates
• Related to the mongoose family
• Litters range from one to six pups, which are born blind and toothless
• Looks cat-like, but is part of the Eupleridae family, not the Felidae (feline)
• Can climb up and down trees head first with semi-retractable claws
